It was equipped with some new P14 and P15s laptops in its ThinkPad product portfolio yesterday, as well as the new X13 Yoga convertible-packed with the latest 11th generation Intel Core vPro processors or the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. However, especially for the core audience of HEXUS desktop computer users, what is more interesting is our headline product – Lenovo ThinkVision P40w monitor.
ThinkVision P40w is a large monitor. As the name suggests, it has a 40-inch diagonal (39.7-inch, to be precise) screen. It has many ideal and state-of-the-art functions, but whether these functions are all suitable for you (expensive) will depend on your own needs and circumstances.
The key specifications worth mentioning are: this 40-inch display has a 5120 x 2160 WUHD resolution 2500R curved IPS panel, a USB Type-C docking station with up to 12 ports (including Thunderbolt 4), and an integrated KVM switch , PiP or PbP mode, 99% sRGB/98% DCI-P3 color gamut, natural blue light technology, maximum brightness 300cd/m2, static contrast 1,000:1 and adjustable display stand (no pivot, but VESA can be installed 100 or 200 compatible). Lenovo has indeed reached the town with the connectivity of the ThinkVision P40w. It is one of the first monitors equipped with Thunderbolt 4, such as those supported by Intel Tiger Lake laptops. In the main picture, you can see it paired with a dual laptop-the PbP and KVM modes actually used are highlighted. The Thunderbolt 4 docking station in this monitor provides the following functions: 2 x Thunderbolt 4, 1 x HDMI 2.0, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4; 1 3.5mm audio output; Gigabit Ethernet, 4 USB 3.2 Type-A, 1 USB 3.2 Type-B and 1 USB 3.2 Type-C.
The suggested price of the ThinkVision P40w is US$1,699, and Lenovo said it will be available in June 2021.
4K U32P2, QHD Q32P2 and 4K U28P2A all have an ergonomic stand and USB hub.
Compared with the 558M1RY (August 2020) evaluated by HEXUS, it provides many key updates.
Suitable for daily use, very suitable for games.
