Dublin, Ireland and San Jose, California-March 11, 2021-

It was announced today that it has successfully completed the offshore installation of the industry's lowest latency transatlantic cable system between Europe and Latin America. For the next phase of the project, EllaLink chose Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN) and its cutting-edge technology ICE6 to illuminate the network, with the goal of establishing a direct single-hop transmission path between data centers on each continent.

The latest generation of ICE6 800G coherent technology

EllaLink, which can provide customers with advanced products and services, supports more than 100 megabits between Portugal and Brazil. In addition, the network will also support a 30 Tbps link from Portugal to Madeira, and in the future will add a 40 Tbps route between Portugal and Morocco.

With Infinera's GX series of compact modular platforms, EllaLink will be able to provide customers with industry-leading low-latency services in a single hop between endpoints to meet the critical bandwidth required by their growing data requirements. EllaLink also plans to use the ICE6 solution to enhance the capacity of its remote terrestrial network between Sines, Lisbon, Madrid and Marseille. Future network expansion will allow EllaLink extenders to expand to subsea networks, connecting to French Guiana, Mauritania, Canary Islands and Morocco, thus forming the most advanced subsea system connecting Africa, Europe and Latin America.

EllaLink will also benefit from the unique innovations of Infinera ICE6 technology, such as long codeword probabilistic constellation model (LC-PCS) and intelligent power management, which will provide industry-leading performance. Infinera's solutions enable EllaLink to create products that benefit customers and a wide range of accessible and flexible services, thereby accelerating the adoption of routes between Europe and Latin America.

"I am proud to announce that we have successfully completed the installation of 6,000 kilometers of submarine cables, thus providing EllaLink with the powerful system needed to support the network throughout the life of the network. Infinera's ICE6 solution is ideal for us , Its performance is better than other available 800G equipment. EllaLink operations director Diego Matas said that starting from May 2021, Infinera and ICE6 and our differentiated optical fiber routes will provide us with a way to provide customers with advanced products and services.

Nick Walden, Senior Vice President of Global Sales of Infinera, said: "Implementing Infinera's 800G solution on EllaLink's new network will provide its customers with an excellent network experience by establishing connections between Europe and Latin America." "Infinera's openness The optical solution will enable EllaLink to provide new differentiated services and help ensure its customers receive the highest level of service."

EllaLink is an advanced optical platform that provides secure, high-capacity connections on unique low-latency transatlantic routes to meet the growing needs of the Latin American and European markets. The EllaLink network directly connects Brazil and Europe, connecting the main centers of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza with Lisbon, Madrid and Marseille. The EllaLink system is constructed with the most advanced coherent technology and can provide 100 Tbps of capacity on four pairs of direct optical fibers between Europe and Brazil.
