How Far Can I Extend a USB Cable?

tags4k Hdr Hdmi Extender

I can’t count the number of times my friends ask me why something they have is not working or charging correctly, and I’ve investigated this issue and found that they are using a wide range of extension cables, or the longest in the world -Extend power or data to the device.

In some cases, extension cables are an effective and useful option-for example, if the mini refrigerator on the patio needs to be powered from a remote power outlet, or the bedside table is too far away from the surge protector to charge the phone. Then there is the Lifehacker reader

Dilemma, this is our stumbling block this week

Troubleshooting column:

USB 4 (or the officially named USB4) has appeared in the technology world, just like WiFi 6E or mobile 5G,...

My first reaction is that your cable should be blamed. In theory, you should be able to use a USB cable up to 5 meters (approximately 16 feet) with a USB 2.0 device, but this is only the maximum length you can find.

. Whether you use a network cable to connect the computers together or try to push the data signal far away, extending the connection time of the device will become more and more troublesome.

At 10 meters, I was surprised that you did not even receive any signal.

I did some more in-depth research and found many answers that seemed to support this conclusion. E.g:

(Webcam manufacturer):

(USB cable manufacturer):

(once again!)

I also checked to see if anyone successfully connected the extra long USB cable to the Logitech C920 webcam, and it seemed

A 10-foot extension cable can be used to make the Logitech C922 work properly-but only about three meters. A 10-

The USB cable (nearly 33 feet) is correct.

You can try to switch to an active or "powered" USB extension cable, but you might even be unlucky there:

For a 32-foot effective cable recording, it says: "[d] o Cannot charge smartphones or tablets; not recommended for webcams or camcorders; not recommended for high-power devices or home theater electronics"

Can I give it a try? of course. It is three times the price of an ordinary 10-foot USB cable (unpowered), but

In this case it is sufficient to provide you with the required connection. Keep the shipping bag, just in case, if the cable does not work properly, you can return the cable.

You can also try

Set up, that is, use a network cable instead of USB to handle long-distance data transmission. I have never tried it myself, and if you try to do this, your webcam will definitely work, but this is another cheap option worth exploring (please go back if it is not available).

Battery power is one of the things that is always very precious, especially when you travel...

Otherwise, please consider giving up the webcam settings altogether, and then mount your smartphone (or tablet) on a tripod, even a smaller tripod can at least tilt the device, but what you need is enough

. This shouldn't be more distracting than a webcam, you just need to connect to the Zoom call on it. P

In the feed of that camera in your Zoom room, so everyone in the class

Focus on it.

I think this is your best solution.

The smartphone can be used as a wireless webcam very well and has all the technology you need

Has been built in. Oops, you can even spend money that could have been spent on an active USB cable or something that was spent on you.

that

Will ensure that your equipment can be used normally in all courses. That, or the three-core extension cord you can use with the charger...

Hi everyone, my name is Abi, and he relies on David's help to solve this problem. First of all, thank you all

pons :). Now, I have tried some of the options mentioned here. This is what I did:

1. Extra long USB cable (10 m) with repeater, as shown here:

. this is

One that

Worked 10%

time.

2. Use a Cat5 cable with two Ethernet to USB adapters (

). I also used a female-to-female USB adapter (

)

On the one hand, so I can plug a webcam into it. I tried to use two lengths of Cat5-2m and 7m. no job.

To

On that day, I returned all the items I purchased. Based on your suggestions, it seems I can still try

phone

,

Strong

d USB hub and

Longer HDMI options

. Phone seems to be the easiest

Option because I have some phones and tablets

Lying idle. I'll be there.

Thanks again everyone. I'm thinking

Super strange way to overcome it, because I simply can’t accept the fact that

Is not working. I'm about to

change

The position of the mirror in the room (the entire wall is a huge mirror-not easy)

Find someone

Facing different directions. Yes, I am very eager to broadcast my courses.

Haha.

Cheers,
