The main stage of the studio uses a huge 8K arc-shaped LED main screen as the background, which is seamlessly integrated with the two large screens on the ceiling and the floor respectively, which can display amazing stage effects, such as the light passing through the floor LED screen Then tap the bottom of the 8K screen to trigger the animated flame to burn on the main screen and on the ceiling screen. It requires accurate time synchronization of all screens, which is controlled by a computer equipped with two DeckLink 8K Pro and two DeckLink Quad capture cards.
In addition, there are about 100 screens on BITC, including 30 screens in the studio, the large screen in the front desk and the screen in the corridor. All signal routing for all these screens and devices in the studio uses three Smart Videohub 40x40 routers and one Smart Videohub 12x12 for redundancy management.
"Smart Videohub can be controlled via Ethernet, which is very good, because we need to control multiple routers together, and it can be simplified by cascading routers and making them automatically perform a series of operations by pressing a button on a controller such as StreamDeck ." Su explained.
All source feeds enter the Smart Videohub first, and then are sent to the main switcher ATEM Constellation 8K in the production control room, controlled by ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel, ME 1 is used to control program output, and ME 2 is used to control program output. "ATEM Constellation 8K provides 40x24 12G-SDI ports, which can easily handle a large number of signals entering and leaving the studio. Moreover, each output is an AUX, so the switch itself can be used as a 4K HDR router, which can reduce the pressure on our routers. And to prevent errors that may be caused by frequent patching," Su said. "In addition, the feeds have different standards, but the standard converter on the ATEM Constellation 8K input can convert them to our designated converter without the need for an external converter, which simplifies the entire system."
With the help of four DVEs and the SuperSource function that provides another 8 DVEs, BITC employees can flexibly superimpose windows on the huge 8K LED screen, for example, close-up shots of presenters, close-ups, audiences, etc.
During live broadcast operations or open classrooms, they can set up ATEM Television Studio 4K Pro or ATEM Mini Pro in the operating room or classroom, and then transfer the program to the main switcher in the production control room.
"These two smaller switchers also have the advanced features of ATEM Constellation 8K, such as standard conversion, which is essential for real-time transmission of online courses, because the HDMI seed from the teacher’s computer must be converted to a broadcast standard. ATEM Mini Pro can even Use our own streaming hardware to broadcast live courses in real time. If not for streaming, we sometimes use it as a converter."
Ultimatte 12 real-time chroma keyer has been integrated into BITC's real 3D virtual device, with 8x7.5x3.5 green box and Vizrt system.
Hundreds of Blackmagic Mini Converters and Teranex Minis glue together devices with various connections (including SDI, HDMI and DisplayPort) and different frame rates and resolutions.
Multiple HyperDeck Studio recorders and Video Assist recorders are used for recording.
Workers in the production control room use Blackmagic Multiview 4 to monitor the guest computer feeds in the talk show.
